Terms & Policies

1. Professional Services

Her Cultural Path provides psychotherapy and counseling services for individuals and couples. Services are offered by a licensed therapist via secure telehealth sessions (and in-person if applicable). Therapy is not a substitute for emergency medical or psychiatric care.

If you are in crisis or experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 (U.S. only).

2. Confidentiality

All therapy sessions are confidential in accordance with state and federal laws. Information shared during sessions will not be disclosed without your written consent, except in cases required by law — such as when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, suspicion of abuse, or court orders.

Electronic communication (email, text, telehealth) is used primarily for scheduling and administrative purposes, and while reasonable precautions are taken to ensure privacy, complete confidentiality cannot be guaranteed through electronic means.

3. Appointments & Cancellations

Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and held weekly or biweekly depending on your needs.

  • A 48 hour cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged the full session fee.

  • Repeated cancellations or missed appointments may result in the loss of a reserved session time.

  • You may request to reschedule via email or your client portal.

4. Fees & Payments

Session fees are due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. Accepted forms of payment include credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, or electronic payment through the secure client portal.
If your therapist is out-of-network with your insurance, a superbill can be provided for potential reimbursement from your insurance company.

5. Telehealth Policy

Telehealth sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Clients are responsible for maintaining privacy on their end during sessions. Please ensure you are in a quiet, safe, and confidential space. If you experience technical issues during a session, your therapist will attempt to reconnect or reschedule if needed.

6. Communication Policy

Non-urgent communication (such as scheduling or brief check-ins) may be done via email or portal messaging. Therapy-related discussions should take place during sessions, as email communication is not a secure or therapeutic space for in-depth processing.

8. Social Media Policy
